Life’s difficult decisions…

Did anyone catch Palin’s speech during the RNC? I’d like to see her think on her feet and not read canned lines. I can’t wait until the VP debates. Overall, I thought she was a good communicator, but her points were simplistic and in many instances, mistaken. I’m having fun reading the post speech commentary. Here’s a good one from a guy in CT:

  • “Just needed to vent a little. After hearing Guiliani speak at the RNC he brought to light how much full of sh*t the whole Republican party is. He said that they (Republicans) allow us to send our children to any school of our choice. I’ve been paying tuition for both of my children since pre-k (oldest just started High School) because I live in the worst section of Bridgeport, CT and I don’t want my girls getting shot, stabbed or pregnant like that bitch’s (Palin) daughter at 17 (every child left behind)I can’t purchase a home because the “system” has eliminated the lower middle class from qualifiing for loans and downpayment assistance programs yet they’ve allowed predatory lending to take place throughout my state (CT) and others in the Northeast. They say that they will and have lowered taxes yet they’ve allowed utility companies to rape us so they can watch and get off on it. They say McCain is more experienced in running the country….did we forget he ratted us out in Vietnam when he got captured like other Republicans he was with. Then Daddy tried to step in to help him out. George Carlin said it best: the rich do none of the work and pay none of the taxes, the middle class does all of the work and pays all of the taxes, and the poor…….are just there to scare the sh*t out of the middle class…to make sure they keep showing up to those jobs. I work for a Housing Authority in CT, there are so many programs out there to help families say making 0-30K, but if your making 35k - 80k…ur on your own. All those people at the RNC that were speaking or shown on TV are the most fake people I’ve ever seen and heard. with their plastic faces and sh*t……I could go on and on. The point is you can’t trust a politician especially a Republican.”

Another from OH:

  • “I can’t even believe that I sat through all of that. Is it just me is everything she says either completely idiotic or a condescending insult? What she is better than the rest of us because she managed to squeeze one out with downs? Or does she really not have anything intelligent to say? Sarah Palin is a rude, uneducated woman that uses racial slurs and smear tactics to attempt to gain support of American female voters. Really now, we are not that stupid, Sarah. This speech was just more of the same thing over and over, it answered no questions and it leaves me believing that she is nothing, but the GOP playtime Barbie doll (aka the blow up doll). The media is sexist for pointing out that she is clueless and corrupt? Then why does she talk like a soccer mom and as if that is the only world she has ever known? All is fair in politics and she has just opened the door for a lashing. Good mother? If that is the case then why does she insist on dragging her family in to the public’s eye and parading her children around like they are something to truly behold? I hate the fact that she had the gull to even begin to speak about Ohio. Fuck you, lady. We don’t like your kind here. You know nothing of our losses and you are supporting the very people that helped us lose millions of jobs. She is sinking the ship faster than I could have imagined. Now, if only she would wreck it. I despise women like you, Sarah Palin. Your idiocy and Barbie like nature make the rest of us look bad.”
